If you work in a stricter field such as financing or business administration, it is common to see that people have to wear suits and much more professional attire. In more creative fields such as graphic design and advertising, people will wear t-shirts with cooler designs on them. While this was not always the case, in recent times it is much more common and it is not seen in such a negative light any longer. Since they are part of the creative process, it is only natural that what they were would be equally creative.
Just ten to fifteen years ago, people in the creative industry were required to follow a stricter dress code of wearing a suit and tie outfit. This form however did not show their creativity well to their clients. The creativity was more visual when clients would see designers or people of such fields wearing shirts with cool designs which usually tended to be more casual. Rather than making the client unhappy, it actually made them happier to work with the company knowing that their material would not end being bland but would be hip and trendy. The process was a gradual one, but over time it became more and more acceptable to see creative company employees such as artists, designers and writers dressing more casual with cooler designs on their clothing.
Today, it is now commonplace to go to a creative office such as a web firm or advertising company and see people wearing t-shirts with cool designs that express their ideas freely. While a suit may look nice, it is now mainly for those in more financial and political fields where they have a different style which they must maintain.
