The big lie about the necktie is that in order to look professional a person must wear a necktie. I beg to differ; I have always, since I can remember, thought that neckties were the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen anyone wear. The necktie really serves no purpose other than that of a mini bib to cover the shirt in between the opening of a jacket. Common sense and basic survival instincts should prevent the necktie from being a part of anybody’s attire, realistically it is a noose. The necktie is actually women’s revenge on men for those god awful corsets, underwire brassieres and high heeled shoes. All a woman had to say was “that looks really good on you” and men agreed, which brought us to where we are today with the necktie tradition.
There are medical reasons to avoid and outright ban the use of neckties in today’s society. First, consider how blood flows to the brain, through the carotid arteries from the heart and up through the neck to the head. A necktie is able to put sufficient pressure on these arteries to restrict and limit the flow of oxygen carrying blood to the brain. The heart has to increase its blood pressure to compensate for the restriction in blood flow that the necktie is causing. Without a sufficient amount of oxygenated blood feeding the brain, people tend to become lightheaded and do not have the ability to think straight, their logical reasoning skills are effectively shut off. Breathing is also affected by the constraints placed upon the neck, thereby reducing the amount of oxygen to the lungs and further limiting the amount of oxygen that the blood will carry. Take members of congress for example, how many of them spend the majority of their day wearing a necktie and what are the results that have been coming out of congress these days. This is also why women tend to be more level minded and clear thinkers; they do not restrict the blood flow of blood to their brains with piece of cloth tied around their necks.
I challenge everybody who has neckties as part of their everyday attire to take a week off and see how better you will feel and how much more productive you will become. Especially all of you politicians, you have the will of the people and the Constitution of the United States to defend. Politicians cannot afford to limit the blood flow to their brains, when they do; nothing gets done, as is apparent with the members of congress that are currently seated. Remove the neckties, I say, and discover the feeling of rich oxygenated blood flowing freely into your brains, reactivating your logical reasoning skills.
Watch a medical professional who attends to a person who loses consciousness and you will notice the first thing they do is to loosen or remove a necktie from the victim and check their airway and verify that blood is circulating properly. So unless you use neckties to keep your head from falling off or leaning one way or the other, then take the tie off and put it away. There is no logical reason to tie a rope around your neck and it makes you look ridiculous, not just to me but to millions of others. Make congress and wherever you work a “No Tie Zone!” Start a petition and make your workplace a safer and more productive place by being the first to put an end to the lie that neckties are professional, because they are not, they are health hazards and need to be avoided at all costs. Join me in letting everybody know the truth about the ridiculous tradition that has made men less productive and unable to think to their fullest capacity.
Ban the Necktie!
Avoid the Lie, Remove the Tie!
Caution: This is a No Tie Zone!
