Watching your ex-girlfriend jump into another relationship soon after dumping you can be one of the worse feelings ever. You’ll wonder if she was cheating on you while you were still together, but most of all you’ll begin to wonder how she could’ve gotten over you so quickly.
The answer is simple: she didn’t get over you. By leaping straight into the arms of a rebound boyfriend, your exgirlfriend bypassed the stages where she would’ve normally put your relationship to bed. Instead of mourning your romance, she buried her feelings by starting a new relationship. But the good news is that those feelings are still down there… buried beneath the distraction of her current fling. But once the warm fuzzy glow of her rebound relationship wears off? Those feelings will come back to the surface.
When that happens, you’ll need to be ready. You’ll have to exploit those feelings, and shine them up a bit. One of the biggest advantages you have with your ex is a long history together. By collecting all those good times the two of you had in the past, you can lay them out and create a road that will lead you back together again. Winning back your girlfriend from another man is all about beating him at the one thing he can’t beat you at: great memories.
Unfortunately, once your ex begins dating this new guy there’s not much you can do. The honeymoon stages of their relationship will always be rosy, and you’ll need to weather that storm if you want your ex back. Try to keep occupied with positive things and good energy. Remind yourself that you’re in it for the long haul: that you’re trying to build a long-term future with your ex. In all likelihood, the rebound relationship she’s currently experiencing will end just as abruptly as it began. Those types of things don’t last very long, because your ex entered into it at a time when her feelings and emotions weren’t fully stable.
There are several things you can do to hasten the end of her new relationship and win your ex girlfriend’s heart again. These involve befriending her on some levels, without giving her warning that you’re still trying to fix the break up. If she suspects that, or if you bad mouth her new boyfriend, your ex is going to bolt. She’ll stop talking to you very quickly, too. But if you can establish a sort of neutral trust with your ex girlfriend, and prove to her that you’re totally okay with the break up (and maybe even wishing her well with her new romance), she’ll eventually begin to trust you again. Getting into position to strike is a crucial part of stealing your ex away from this new guy, so you’ll be looking for the cracks in her armor.
Once again, your past history is your greatest weapon. By waiting until her relationship falls into a more mundane routine and then dropping casual references to great things the two of you did together, you’ll get back in her head again. Even after you’ve left, her mind will be buzzing with memories of the things you did. And sometimes, these things will look more appealing than what she has right now. Rebound relationships lose their shine very quickly, and remember: she never fully got the chance to get over you. The cards are in your favor, here – use them!
