American baseball player Jonathan Papelbon currently plays pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of the MLB. In 2012, he received an annual salary of $11 million. Jonathan Robert Papelbon was born on November 23, 1980 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from Bishop Kenny High School, he attended Mississippi State University where he played for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He played for the Minor League from 2003 through 2005.

In 2003, he was selected by the Oakland Athletics as a fourth round pick in the Major League Baseball Draft.
