Children of all ages, look forward to that one time of year, when they can dress up and become someone they dream about. Parents also tend to be a little less concerned about letting their kids just have a little fun. It can also make you have a tender heart when you see your little girl dressed up as an Arabian princess, Cinderella, or maybe even barbie. The possibilities at Halloween time are really endless.
There are so many costumes today, children can become anything or anyone they wish to be. Boys tend to lean towards becoming a pirate or someone in the military. Dad’s especially like it when they see their son wanting to be an army man or super hero.
Halloween is an annual celebration when kids go door to door and say,”Trick or Treat”. They look forward to getting candy and treats. Sometimes, parents like to dress up also as much as their kids do. This time of year calls for parties at schools and homes.
You can find a store that only sell Halloween costumes. You will be amazed at everything they have. They are usually open all year long. That just goes to show, how popular this time of year is. You can spend hours with your child just trying on all of the different costumes.
Military costumes are very popular for boys. They dress up in their camouflage shirts, pants, boots and hats. You can even use a piece of tape, write their name on their costume to look like they belong in the army. Boys really like that sort of thing. They can even carry a plastic toy gun.
Pirate costumes, pretending to be aboard a dastardly ship on the high sea, looking for gold, fighting with swords, is something boys like doing. They like dressing up not only at Halloween time, but all year around. They build ships from cardboard boxes or use pillows from your sofa. If they don’t have a play sword they can usually make one out of something. Kids have a creative imagination.
Girl’s also have vivid imaginations of just how and what they want to be. They tend to lean towards wearing frilly things. Who would like to dress up as an Arabian princess? If you asked that question, you will find every little raising their hand. This outfit can be made from silky material and adorned with gold trim. For the finishing touch to this royal outfit, just add a costume gold necklace, and some ballet slippers.
Parents can make any suggestion to their child about what to wear. Usually the kids already have in mind, what they would like to be. We as parents tend to try to compromise with our child, but in the end result, it’s the kids who win us over. We see the excitement when they are trying to express to us what they want. Just remember, that it’s only one night out of the whole year for a kid to be a kid.
