Jeff LaBar was an American guitarist most famous for playing in the glam metal band Cinderella, in which he replaced original guitarist Michael Schermick. During Cinderella’s temporary breakup in the mid-1990s, LaBar supported himself by running a pizzeria with his brother and doing various construction jobs.

LaBar was also in a sideband with Cinderella’s bandmate Eric Brittingham, called Naked Beggars. In April 2007, LaBar and his wife parted ways with Naked Beggars. They hosted an Internet radio show “Late Night with the LaBar’s” on www.realityradio.biz.

In 2012, LaBar and Cinderella completed their 20th-anniversary tour with fellow rock veterans Poison, who were also celebrating 20 years in the business. LaBar’s death was confirmed by his son Sebastián in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, which read: “So I just got the call … @jefflabar, my father, my hero, my idol, passed away today “.

“I am currently at a loss for words,” he continued, sharing photos of the musician over the years. “I love you pop!”

LaBar was found dead in his Nashville apartment on Wednesday, the musician’s first wife, Gaile LaBar-Bernhardt, told TMZ.
